Every photograph hides a second story: how it was made, who it changed, and what it can no longer prove.
Independent publisher · Fact-checking for podcasts and video
Every claim listed. Every source shown.
FactUnion is an independent publisher of narrative podcasts. Our episodes are checked fact by fact to the FactUnion Standard and publish every source. With FactUnion Verify, we check your podcasts and videos claim by claim and give each piece a public Trust Page anyone can open.

- 2Every claim is listed
Our software writes down every word, finds every factual claim and checks each one against published sources. Claims only the speaker could know are listed but not rated.
- 3Score, Trust Page and badge
You get a score, a Trust Page and a badge. Correct something and check again for half the price.
Four results, always with a reason
About the statuses-
Verified
Reliable sources we could read state this.
Made-up example “The city opened its new public library in 2019.”
The city council records and a local newspaper both state this.
-
Questionable
Sources disagree, only one source states it, a detail is off, it leaves out context that changes its meaning, or our repeated reads did not agree.
Made-up example “Most of the town’s bridges were built before 1950.”
Only one source states this: a local history blog.
-
Unable to determine
This cannot be checked from public records: only the speaker can know it, it is too vague, too new, or the records are not open.
Made-up example “My grandmother kept every letter she was ever sent.”
Only the speaker would know this. It is shown, not rated.
-
Not verified
A reliable source says otherwise, or we found no record of something that should have one.
Made-up example “The bridge cost 2 million dollars to build.”
The state transport department gives a different figure: 9 million dollars.
Simple prices
Pay for the minutes you check. No monthly fee. Checks after a correction cost half.

Our shows
12 shows in 4 desksPhotography
True stories about the money, clients and disasters behind the camera, told like a heist.
One photographer, one picture they kept, and the whole roll around it.
Family & Lives
One year between 1950 and 1985, rebuilt, so you finally understand who your parent was before you.
One family legend a week, tested against the records. What really happened is usually stranger.
Obituaries say "she lived a full life" and stop there. We find out exactly how full it was.
Markets & Signals
When a crowd with money on the line saw something coming before the headlines, or got it spectacularly wrong.
The hidden rule changes that quietly rewired an industry, one effective date at a time.
The truth was public all along. Each week, one person who read the signal before the world did.
Local Business
The hidden economics and strange history of one business on your block.
Local businesses weeks from closing, and the one decision that kept the lights on (or didn't).
The science and craft of regulars: why customers keep coming back to one shop and not another.
Our own shows will be customer number one. Once FactUnion Verify opens, every episode will go through it like anyone else's. How we check our shows
Neutral by design
We do not score opinions, and we take no side in politics. A factual claim about politics is checked the same way as any other claim. If only the speaker could know it, we say so.
